SWING WITH CONFIDENCE

GS53 Fairway Woods are designed to keep you in play off the tee and be a weapon on long approach shots. They’re exceptionally straight and easy to launch from the ground.

TECHNOLOGY

The GS53 fairway woods are made with a 455 Carpenter steel face that has a uniform grain structure throughout, free from dead spots, hot spots, or any other irregularities. The score lines are precision milled into the forged steel face at exact and consistent depths to ensure the highly engineered bulge and roll bring shots struck toward the heel or toe back on line and tame the trajectory of shots struck high or low.

We’ve incorporated Ben Hogan’s proprietary Flex Face technology to deliver a more active and responsive club face and create a larger effective hitting area. This means that the face of the club is forged to the tightest tolerances possible, with different thicknesses in different areas.

The GS53 fairway woods’ face is thickest in the absolute center of the club face to provide a pure, solid feel. The face has been progressively ‘thinned’ towards the edges of the Effective Hitting Area to optimize distance on off center strikes.

We’ve added the famous Ben Hogan “Speed Slot” on the toe for enhanced aerodynamics and more club head speed. All of this adds up to the distance you demand, with the accuracy you need.

DESIGN

More so than almost any club in your bag, fairway woods need to have a certain look at address to inspire confidence. Too many fairway woods on the market today are simply shrunken drivers and are too big to work effectively off the turf.

The GS53 fairways woods have a traditional look with a squared off toe. All have been designed to sit 1 degree open at set up creating a visually appealing look preferred by both highly accomplished and players of average skill levels.

Even the classic, elegant crown is free from any cosmetic distractions and the sole has been kept clean to ensure clean turf interaction.

Buttery 4 Wood

I wanted to find something that was easier to hit than my 3 wood, but without sacrificing too much distance. Ben Hogan was one of the places I found that offered a 4 wood in their lineup. The fact that I was able to get it as well with the same shaft I already was familiar with in my Driver gave me the confidence to go down the DTC route. The club was built and shipped well within the specified time and the shipping to me in New Zealand arrived well ahead of schedule. It was easy to got right from the go when testing at the range and then it might be a coincidence but my first game with it was my lowest round for 8 years. OK definitely is a coincidence as I only used it 3 times in the round. Overall I'm really happy with the purchase, it's a beautiful club and I'm looking forward to using it more and learning how to get the best out of it.

Ben Hogan Woods Review – Classic Looks, Solid Performance, and Surprising Forgiveness

Ben Hogan Woods Review – A 14.2 Handicap Perspective I recently picked up a set of Ben Hogan woods and wanted to share my thoughts after a few rounds with them. As a 14.2 handicap, I’m always looking for clubs that provide solid performance without being overly punishing on mishits. These woods check a lot of boxes. Performance & Feel When struck well, these woods sound fantastic—there’s a crispness to the impact that gives a real sense of confidence. Even on mishits, the drop-off in performance isn’t drastic. I’ve found that slight off-center shots still produce decent results, which is a huge plus for consistency. Turf Interaction & Playability One of the standout features for me is the rounded bottom of the clubface. Hitting from the fairway feels smooth, and I don’t have to worry about the club digging in if I come in a little steep. This design makes it much easier to trust my swing, knowing the club will glide rather than get stuck in the turf. Aesthetics Hogan clubs have always had a classic look, and these woods are no exception. They set up beautifully at address, and the clean design inspires confidence. There’s a certain timeless appeal to them that I really appreciate. Final Thoughts Overall, these Ben Hogan woods have been a great addition to my bag. They look fantastic, feel solid, and provide a good mix of forgiveness and workability. If you’re in the market for woods that perform well without excessive hand-holding, these are worth considering. Would I recommend them? Absolutely—especially if you appreciate a club that rewards good contact while still being playable on those inevitable mishits.

Best fairway wood/metal currently on the market.

You can go pay more at Ping, TM, Callaway, etc…, but you will not get better performance.
