Consistency Is Everything

All Ben Hogan Precision Milled Putters are crafted from 1020C carbon steel in a multi-step forging process that results in an extremely soft and pure feel. There are no “hot spots” or “dead areas” to impact the distance and trueness of your putt.

The face of every putter is also CNC milled for perfect flatness and a uniform mill pattern from heel to toe.

Technology

A forged, CNC milled putter is not the least expensive or easiest option, but we believe it is the best. The thermal cycle and deformation process that occurs during forging creates metallurgical recrystallization, which refines the grain structure of the metal. Through forging, deformed grains are replaced by new, defect-free grains that nucleate and grow until the original grains are entirely consumed.

What does this mean for you? Even the best golfers in the world rarely strike putts in the exact center of the putter face. Ben Hogan Precision Milled Forged Putters deliver uniform density across the entire face, so no matter where you strike the ball there are no “hot spots” or “dead areas” to impact the distance and trueness of your putt.

The Other Guys

Most putters on the market today are investment cast (molten metal is poured into a mold) into the putter head shape, and then skim-milled or buffed. Others are milled from blocks of investment cast steel. In either case, cast steel is less dense, more porous, and can contain voids or flaws. Cast steel does not have the strength and refined structure of forged steel and will sound and feel different from forged steel when struck.

Other popular putters are made through a process called extrusion – a round bar of steel is heated and squeezed into a rectangular shape that’s approximate to the finished putter head. Extrusion is a limited forging process that only refines the grain structure in height and width, but not length. The consistency of the extruded metal grain is therefore limited, and not as refined or uniform as truly forged metal.

Customize It

The standard length for Ben Hogan Precision Milled Forged Putters is 35 inches, but all can be customized in lengths ranging from 33.5 to 36.5 in half inch increments.

We’ve partnered with SuperStroke, the leading putter grip company in the world, to offer your choice of three (3) popular grip styles: Flatso 1.0, MidSlim 2.0, Slim 3.0.

awesome

Played an Odyssey 2 ball putter for the last 15 years. Gave this a try and immediately switched and my putting has been way more consistent. Looks great as well. (I have the chrome finish)

Significant Improvement With Mallet Design

I am 65+ years old and below average at reading greens / judging speed of putts. I recently replaced my Odyssey Tri-Force putter (blade design with plumber's fixture neck) that I had used for 25 years. The Ben Hogan BHM01 mallet-design has significantly improved my putting performance (especially reduced # of 3-putts during an 18 hole round). I am consistently putting the ball straighter toward my target point and closer to the correct speed / distance -- without any change in my ability to read the green. The alignment line etched on the back of the putter is very effective at helping me aim / swing in my intended direction and the somewhat heavier weight of the putter club head makes a pendulum swing movement feel very natural and easy to move the ball farther without added effort (my shoulders / arms move less in the course of the swing). I am still getting used to the mallet design (1/2 shaft off-set requires some visualization adjustment to addressing the ball), so I think that there is room for even more improvement.

WOW!

First impressions out of the box: WOW! THAT LOOKS GOOD! I like it immediately. Can't wait to try it. 2 hours later... Amazing. Absolutely love this putter. I've gone from needing 2 or even three putts on the green to being the One Putt King (most of the time)!! So glad I got this putter.
